With God's help, youth in leadership, adult support, and guidance and direction from Rev. Matt Carter, St. James Youth is a great place to be. Our youth have fun and fellowship, go out in mission to serve and grow in community and faith throughout the year.

The L-Team  is a group of students who are committed to making St. James Youth Ministry the best it can be. They meet for leadership training, planning, and idea sharing. They help decide on the Ministry's lessons, mission trips, retreats, and special events. 
 The L-Team is open to youth that will be in the 8th – 12th grade.

 



 

Sunday School Class

Sunday Mornings 9:30am-10:45am
(Students are divided up by grade)

During the Sunday School hour, youth participants enjoy a relaxed environment for organized study, fellowship, and discussion.  The focus for each grade is as follows:
6th grade-Confirmation,
7th Grade– Old Testament,
8th Grade– Jesus & the Gospels,
9th Grade-Acts & the Letters of Paul,
10th Grade– The church, other religions, and denominations,
11th/12th grade– Lessons on Life after High School, including financial responsibility.

All Youth 3:30pm - 7:30pm

Wednesday Student XP is an interactive student experience designed to help students recognize Christ’s presence in their daily routines. Rooted in community, students have access to tutors and study coaches, recreational and craft opportunities, and music lessons. The option for dinner with the family leads into student faith development with Student Worship and small groups. For more information contact Rev. GroupLife

GroupLife is the student small group opportunity where they will be supported and encouraged to engage with student who have similar interests. Students have the opportunity to mature their faith by connecting spiritual principles and ideas with Drama, Discussion, Service, Daily Electronic Devotionals, and Recreational Activities. Groups meet with the coordination of each small group leader. For more information contact Rev. Matt Carter at 217-6707.

Confirmation

At St. James UMC Confirmation is a yearlong process in which the sixth grade students learn about other denominations, attend field trips to other religious churches and\or synagogues and learn about what it means to be a United Methodist.
