The first Saturday of each month people will gather to work on various outreach events, both at the church and in the community.  H2O (Help To Others) Mission Saturdays are designed for all ages and experience levels. Recent H2O Mission opportunities include assisting at Methodist Children's Home and the Arkansas Rice Depot. Come serve, and bring your friends, for a worthwhile Saturday in Mission! If you would like more information, please contact Director of Mission and Outreach Brenda Weeks at 217-6722 or brenda@stjames-umc.org.

Here is an example of one of our largest H2O Mission Days! We partnered with Habitat for Humanity to Rock the Block in North Little Rock by Sponsoring a carnival for children and families while teams of individuals worked on sprucing up homes in the area.

St. James is always collecting food for distribution to the food insecure, both directly and through our mission partners. Help Sack Hunger by filling a bag of groceries and bringing it to the church's Faithworks Mission Center. Reusable Sacks are located near each worship venue.

This is an ecumenical effort to feed the homeless. On the 1st and 2nd Monday of each month, volunteers from St. James prepare a meal and sack lunches for the homeless. Individuals then go and distribute the food at the two locations. Clothes and other items are passed out seasonally. Contact Ruthanne Murphy at 501-590-0332 or ruthannemurphy@hotmail.com.

Teams work Saturday completing a variety of projects, and spend Sunday leading worship for a neighboring United Methodist congregation. The weekend also includes fun and of course, worship. ROME is a multi-generational mission weekend, set up so that FAMILIES can go and participate together. It’s a great “first step” for people who have never been on a mission trip or a continued journey for those who are seasoned veterans to ROME. For more information, or to sign up, Contact Rev. Greg Schick at 217-6706 or greg@stjames-umc.org.
